While July in Chicago may be a time for relaxing on family vacations or enjoying the fun of summer in the city, Chicago SHRM continued to offer our members multiple opportunities this month to learn more about our profession, advance our careers, and connect with our colleagues in Human Resources.
One of the many benefits of membership in Chicago SHRM is our Roundtable series, a set of facilitated discussions reserved for members free of charge. Once a month our members participate in these interactive sessions, designed for a small-group idea exchange – and networking.
During the month of July, we featured two member Roundtables:
- On July 21, we held Creating Business Value! Deciphering the World of HR Technology and HRIS which focused on adding value to the HR role by sharing the latest information on data and technology that attendees could apply immediately to their strategic advantage.
- And for members anticipating or experiencing career transition, our July 29 roundtable, In Transition? Find Out What Recruiters are Looking For will provide a forum with recruiters and an opportunity to interact and network with others in transition. Come learn how permanent, direct-hire, temp-to-hire or temporary positions can bridge the gap in a job search strategy.
Looking ahead, a third Roundtable is scheduled for August 18:
- It’s Not Just Your Take Home Pay That Matters! In this timely discussion, our members will brainstorm and share ideas to deliver and communicate the high value of a total rewards package. This is a unique opportunity to information-share on a topic of interest to all of us.
